Whether your tooth is broken or has a cavity, our dental team will work to repair it with a filling and remove any decayed portion.
What is a filling?
Fillings are used when there is decay, also known as a cavity in a tooth. Fillings can also be used if there is a cracked or broken tooth that needs to be fixed. We also recommend replacing fillings that are damaged and need to be changed.
There are many types of filling materials available. We work closely with our patients to determine the best options for restoring teeth.
Composite fillings, along with silver amalgam fillings, are the most widely used today.
Because composite fillings are tooth coloured, they can be closely matched to the colour of existing teeth, and are aesthetically suited for use in front teeth or the more visible areas of the teeth.
Why would I need a composite filling?
- Chipped teeth
- Closing space between two teeth
- Decayed teeth
